Christ is God’s Perfect Plan

The scroll spoken of in the book of Revelation disclosed God’s perfect plan of judgment and redemption for His creation. The only One who was capable of opening the scroll was the Lamb who was slain, who ransomed His people by His blood.

In addition to being the sacrificial Lamb, Jesus is referred to as the Root of David. This is not only because He is the royal descendant (Revelation 22:16), but also because He was the source of David’s rule. (Mark 12:35-37, Romans 15:12)

It is wonderful to start to see how God’s Word connects with and confirms itself! Everything in Scripture, in some way, points to Christ. Worthy is the Lamb, slain for us. He is the promised King, the fulfillment of all God’s promises. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

So, you see, the central focus of God’s perfect plan for His creation is Christ. You were created to know Him and worship Him. And all that troubles us, all of our pain and doubt and hardship, will ultimately come to an end when we see Him face to face. Christ is all and is in all. (Colossians 3:11)

“All that puzzles us now will become plain to us in the light of the Lamb.” -Charles Spurgeon

A song and Scripture for further meditation:

“Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll? The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave, He is David’s Root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave. Is He worthy? Is He worthy of all blessing and honor and glory? He is!” (Is He Worthy? by Andrew Peterson)
