God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation.
Afterward, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
-James 1:12 (NLT)
Often, when I find myself facing a trial, my mind automatically goes into freak out mode...even though I know God is with me. When I’m down on myself and feel weak, I have to take a step back, evaluate my thoughts and remind myself of Who I belong to. My own strength will never be sufficient enough to conquer this life.
Jesus is the only reason I can get through life and all of its storms. Within each trial, there is always something to learn and growth often occurs. Leaning into God during tough times requires a special level of vulnerability that might make us feel uncomfortable. The enemy desires for our discomfort to keep us from approaching the throne. It's important for us to keep in mind that our uncomfortableness is okay and God expects it. Does it change how He welcomes us in? Absolutely not.
When we draw closer and dive deeper into our relationship with Christ, a process of transformation will take place. Beautiful fruits like spiritual awareness, maturity, guidance, and confidence are all things we might receive in exchange for our surrender.
Today, I want to encourage you to look at your trials as some of the building blocks of your faith. Do not allow worry and panic to have the say in your trial seasons. The Lord will always guide our steps with His love, grace, and correction. Open your eyes, ears, and heart to this truth and be transformed by it.
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long good life. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths
-Proverbs 4:10-11 (NLT)
