Daily Delight
When my son and daughter-in-law got married over two years ago, I felt this tug to dive into the meaning of story, especially their story. As wedding details unfolded, I watched from a distance and saw the beauty of God's story as it was being written for the two of them. I paused often to listen to how God wanted to teach me of His delight in this new union. But it wasn't just cherishing the new chapter that was being written, but learning that God truly delights in each of His children.
As I reflected on the upcoming wedding, I knew I wanted to commemorate the day by sharing a testimony of the love of God for my son and daughter to be. I turned to Psalm 139 to frame my thoughts and found a love story that God has for each of us:
On their wedding night I stood up and reassured my son and daughter-in-law of God’s love. Today, I want you to know your story is not a mistake. Because of God’s great love for you, He painstakingly knit you together in your mother's womb and declares you fearfully and wonderfully made.
The Author and Creator of your story adores you. He wrote you into being even before you were born. God loves everything about you and sees only beauty when looking into your eyes. May you rejoice today and always that you are part of God’s story and as we join our stories to His we become the best version of who He designed us to be.
