EP 01: About the Podcast
Hi friend! I can’t believe the podcast launch day is here! It’s so wild to see a dream you’ve been working on finally come to fruition. Excitement is quite an understatement for me today!
Get to Know Your Host
First of all, if you don’t know who I am, my name is Elle Cardel and I am the Founder of Daughter of Delight. I will be sharing the Daughter of Delight story in the next podcast episode -- so stay tuned -- but for this specific episode, I wanted to give you a more personal look into my life and share my heart's prayer for this podcast.I am 26 years old and have been married to my absolute best friend, Michael, for a little over three years now. We live in a very small town tucked away here in middle Tennessee and currently reside in a historic fixer-upper with our lab-mix Tucker, where we are almost always working on or dreaming up home DIY projects.
The Call to Women's Ministry
Daughter of Delight is my full-time job, sort of. It doesn’t pay the bills but I am hopeful and prayerful one day it will. I know without a doubt the Lord has called me to women’s ministry, specifically in the online space, and I am here for it no matter what! That being said, in addition to running this ministry (for almost six years now, say what?!), I am a certified wedding planner in the middle Tennessee area and I absolutely love it! I love all things details and people, and these two things collide so beautifully within this role. I also do some VA work on the side for a couple of wedding photographers. So yeah, I wear a lot of hats right now, but I also love the freedom and flexibility these jobs give me to work from home and set my own hours. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, driving into town to catch up with my girls over coffee, hosting game night gatherings with friends, reading, cycling, and spending time on the Cardel family farm. Come visit and I’ll take you four-wheeling sometime!
About the Podcast
As I was thinking, researching and praying about what this podcast could and should be, I found myself witnessing a lack of biblically sound content for women of faith in the podcast realm. That’s not to say there aren’t any good podcasts out there for women of faith, because there are definitely some amazing ones out there! But it is to say, I believe God has called me to take a seat at this table in order to help fill the gap and be another resource in the podcast space for women of faith. I am so, so excited the Daughter of Delight podcast is out in the world and pray that God will use it as a way to draw you closer to Him.If there is anything I want you to take away from this episode, it’s that this podcast is not about me. You see, I am a communicator of God’s Word...and that’s it. I am just the pen in His hands. Creating a podcast is yet another way for me to communicate the truths found in His Word to you, and I believe with all my heart that’s why God planted the seed for this podcast in the first place. Anything that you walk away with from this podcast gives God the glory- not me, not Daughter of Delight, but our Heavenly Father.
How the Podcast Works
Each Wednesday, a new truth-filled episode will drop. Each episode will last between 20-30 minutes -- something to keep you occupied on your commute, while you’re working out, or while your littles are down for their nap. The possibilities to tune in are endless, and I’m so excited to see how you do so! We will cover topics all the way from how to properly read and interpret the Word of God to things like the preeminence of Christ, what boundaries look like for healthy Christian friendships, what to do when we don’t like something in the Bible, what it looks like to live a life worthy of the Gospel, and so much more!That being said, I hope you will join me at the table so that we can feast on God’s Word and be changed by the truth found within it together.
