Daily Delight
A phrase I see and hear often is "Be you."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀For a society that promotes embracing unique qualities, we sure do tend to judge them just as quickly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀We go through life telling other women and our own children to fully own who God has created within them. Then, when we see adults stepping into who they were created to be, we tend to look at those unique qualities and label them. If we agree with the label, we accept. If we disagree with the label, we reject.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I’ve been slapped with quite a few labels over my 29 years.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Have you had labels put on you that cause you to feel less than? Have you had others reject you because of the unique way God has created you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The world can label you many different things, but the world did not die for you to live.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I think of Jesus hanging on that cross.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I see my sins, my shortcomings, my pain, my shame, and my guilt being taken away and replaced with my redemption, my strengths, my joy, my goodness, and my value.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I was worth dying for in the eyes of God.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀When I focus on that, I realize rejection, labels, and division by the world means absolutely nothing and holds no worth in my life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Don't listen to the "Be You" the world says.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Listen to the "You are worthy" that your God says.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It isn't by works of your hands. It isn't by titles you have earned. It isn't by status you have achieved. It isn't by the audience you have gained.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It's by His grace that you are saved. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It's because of Whose you are.⠀
