Be Like Jesus

Daughter of Delight | Blogs for Women | Christian Women Inspiration | Christian Women's Ministry | Women's Devotional | Devotional for Women | Christian Quotes | Christian Women | Bible Verse Graphics | Online Women's Ministry | Blogs for Christian Women  I'll never forget the moment when I first uttered the words, "Lord, change my desires to be YOUR desires."I'd been living as a lukewarm believer, putting my hope in the world while professing to be Christian. Yet the more I focused on the world, the more unsatisfied I became.

Where is Your Treasure?

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." -Matthew 6:21 (ESV)Asking the Lord's will for my life felt terrifying. It meant being okay with not having the clothes, trips, and financial success I craved. Sounds foolish, but that's what living for the world, not the Lord, looked like.Relief washed over me as I re-committed my heart to Jesus and accepted my life would look different. As the Lord worked, the things of this world grew undesirable in my eyes. I see evidence of His work in simple things like giving my vision board a makeover. I no longer desired the worldly things I had on it, so I threw them in the garbage and replaced them with Bible verses that inspire and encourage me.

Be Like Jesus

Surrendering to the Lord's will isn't glamorous; it's quite the opposite! It means laying our life down to pick up our cross and follow Jesus. Before His crucifixion, He prayed the Father's will would be done. He asked for another way but accepted the cup He was given. (Matthew 26:36-46)"He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." -Matthew 26:42 (NIV)We are to be like Jesus in this way. Because He followed His Father's will, He secured eternal life for us. When we accept the Lord's will in our life, we live for His glory!"The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever." -1 John 2:17 (NIV)Sis, when you're making plans for 2021, pray for the Lord's will to be done in your life. As He works in your heart, you'll find the deep rest and satisfaction that only He can give."I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." -Jeremiah 31:25 (NIV)
