Daily Delight

Raise your hand if you like your coffee or tea somewhat cool? 

Raise your hand if you like your water or soda kind somewhat warm?

Uh yeah, me neither. Lukewarm is gross. 

But if you are one who professes to be a Christian and you don't live like it, you don't let the Word influence your mind and actions, you go to church on Sundays but ignore the teachings the other six days of the week, then you are lukewarm.

Guess who else doesn't like lukewarm? You guessed it - God.

"But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth!" 

-Revelation 3:16 (NLT)

"Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters." 

-Matthew 12:30 (ESV)

Ladies, we cannot be lukewarm in our faith. To be a Christian is not a trend. God is not a fad. You either are devoted to Him or you're not. You cannot pretend one day of the week to be a believer, and the rest live like the world. Christianity is not a costume to wear on certain occasions. God calls us to be so devoted and committed to Him that it appears our love for our family is like hate (Matthew 10:37).

How devoted are you to God? Are you so consumed with Christ and His Word to the point where there is no room for anything else? That’s how it should be.

Take time to reflect on how committed you are. Are there things that need to change? Do you need to rid of certain things in your life? Is God really the god of your life?

"No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." -Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13 (NLT)

"But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve." -Joshua 24:15a (NLT)

Are you willing to lay aside your desires to fully yearn for God? Will you be completely enamored in Him? Yes, you will have to sacrifice to follow Him, but in the end, those sacrifices are nothing compared to what you will receive for true faith.
