Daily Delight

To say life is chaotic at times is an understatement. If you're anything like me, you take way too much on, you have trouble saying no because you want to help everyone, and you stay as busy as a bee in the summer breeze. Most of the time, as we take too much on, we forfeit peace. Convicted a little? Most of the time, when we take too much on we end up dropping something somewhere along the way and then we beat ourselves up mentally instead of giving ourselves grace. Sound familiar?Well, thankfully that’s where faith enters in.Sweet friends, we are our own worst critics. We think we're not doing enough, so we do too much. We make a small mistake and we punish ourselves. We seek peace but never make the time to get it, and we crave grace but never let ourselves receive it.More often than not, I have to remind my weary soul of this truth in Romans 5: "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace which we stand...".I can't tell you how absolutely freeing it is to take everything that is in my arms and leave it at His feet, and then drown in His PEACE and the GRACE that pours over me.And He doesn’t put an expiration date on it. This isn’t just something I can receive when life gets chaotic, but Every. Single. Day.Can I get an Amen? Here it is once more for good measure: having faith in Jesus means we receive peace and access to grace on a daily basis- not just when things get tough! So let's use it! Let's receive it! Let's swim in it! Let's let that sink in deep.
