Daily Delight

What does it mean to have joy? Well, some synonyms for joy are "delight, happiness, jubilation."Joy can be cultivated. It can be chosen. It can be aspired to. But it can never just be those things. There is emotion behind joy. It is felt. It can't be acted upon like a chore. And it is only achievable by knowing the creator, the giver and the lover of joy, our God. As we spend time building on our relationship with Christ, we begin to genuinely possess real joy. It becomes something we really feel. As we let the Holy Spirit take over our lives, He infiltrates every part of us and we begin to see His joy become ours.Fearless joy happens when we live with a deep understanding that we are eternal. When we understand that heaven is truly where we are headed, we begin to understand that what we might face or what we might lose in this life isn't something to be afraid of. Our very best memories don’t even begin to compare to the beauty, excitement and glory of heaven.Ladies, what we have ahead of us is perfection. We will be in the presence of the Most High! We will be given a beautiful home, a significant purpose, a magnificent adventure, a wonderful family. The most exciting and magnificent world you can imagine doesn't even compare to the new heaven and new earth that you get to take part in. And if that is what is ahead of us, then what do we have to fear here? The worst thing that could happen is we pass in this life and move on to the next with the One who breathes life into our very being and plants purpose in each of our hearts. Now we are to be good stewards of this life, of course, but it's important we understand that this is only temporary and only preparation for the life ahead. When we understand these concepts and put them into practice that is how we begin to live with fearless joy.

"May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." -Romans 15:13
