Daily Delight

The road seemed wide when I stepped onto it at first. However, the farther we walked, the narrower and rockier it became. The second I felt fear creeping in, God’s hand reached out for mine. Instantly, my journey became more of an adventure.Suddenly, I seemed to be alone...His hand no longer in mine. Somehow, I had let go and wandered down a path I did not want to be on. It was dark and scary. I became fearful and cried out, "Lord, where are You? I need You!"Picture this: the grass is green and the sun is shining in the bluest sky you’ve ever seen. You look over and there He is- Jesus walking towards you. Your heart leaps for joy as it knows how He feels about you. His love is like no other and His presence brings the peace you long for."Hello daughter”, He says. Before you can help yourself, you have fallen into His arms. You begin to weep, for you have traveled so long and need the kind of rest only He can provide. He strokes your hair, assuring you everything will be okay. A sense of relief and calmness passes over you."I'm sorry I let go of Your hand,” you utter. His reply is one of unconditional love, specific to my heart. He begins to explain and help me understand that I cannot go with Him and remain in the same place.Sometimes it's a matter of moving, and I don't mean changing your physical address. It’s more of an intentional decision to do what God asks of you and go where He calls you. It's about trust.Do we trust that God has our best interest at heart? Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us this: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight" (NIV). Does this mean hard times won't come and roads won't be rocky? No. The promise is that He will lead and direct us no matter where the path may go.I smile and so does He.Can you see it?He is smiling at you, as He extends His hand and reaches for yours.
