Daily Delight

The weather lately has me reflecting on how abandoned the earth appears...lacking growth and goodness. The withered, dry grass craves the newness of green and the trees still look empty as they reach out begging for the buds of renewal. Winter can take a toll on the soul just as the ground becomes hard from the frozen season.Do you feel like that sometimes? Desiring the excitement of fresh growth in your life as your heart is filled with a stirring of revival, yet unable to see the promise of newness yet?Rejoice sister, because you were created to learn to go through seasons and embrace what each one has prepared for you.Spring is here and you can choose to allow the sunbeams to warm your face and melt your heart that once felt deserted. What you’ll find is that your winter season was simply the season of taking root. You were planted with the intention to be truly rooted to your life source which is God alone.

“So then, just as you receive Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built in Him, strengthened in faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” -Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)

Being rooted in Him, you can now sprout forward in new growth. Your winter season prepared you by strengthening your faith in your Father so that when you experience the growth in your life you will be able to do so with an abundance of gratitude to the one who provides fully for you.Spring up, sister. Your winter season has equipped you!

Shelbey is a 29 year-old, small town Kansas girl relentlessly pursuing the God-given purpose placed within her heart. She is a writer finishing up her first book, an entrepreneur in wellness and a seeker of opportunity to boldly share God’s love and truth. She believes passionately that when women come together in their God given giftings and rise up in community instead of comparing and dividing among each other, His Kingdom is further built upon and His love is better spread among people who desperately need it.

She is married to her biggest supporter, Justin, and together they have 3 young children. She enjoys going for runs with songs of truth blasting in her ears, supporting her local coffee shop by consuming their creations often and decorating her home with bright splashes of color.

Most of all she is incredibly humbled by the opportunity to offer up her brokenness to show the overcoming love and grace of God. She believes her story is one of triumph because of the ability to choose His new mercies every morning.
