Daily Delight

This morning, we will be in 1 John 1:5-7. I encourage you to soak in these truth-filled words:

"This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.” -1 John 1:5-7 (NIV)

If light is the natural agent that stimulates sight or makes things visible, then the Lord also makes things visible! Everything that happens in the dark—guilt, shame, hatred, anger, our past mistakes—cannot stay there when we live in fellowship with Him. He brings our brokenness into the light and, by the blood of Jesus Christ, purifies and heals every single part of our souls.

Where are you walking? In the light, or in the darkness?

Because of His great love for us, God has freely given us His light and confidence to walk in the light with Him! Psalm 27:1 reminds us, “The LORD is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?” (NIV)

I know sometimes our lives become so busy that we forget to walk in fellowship with the Lord. Or sometimes, we just do not want to walk in fellowship with the Lord because we like to be in control! However, in Him—who is Light—there is freedom.

In Him, we are made whole.

Sister, you can walk in the light today! May you choose to do just that.
