Daily Delight
It can be difficult to watch others participate in things you know are not pleasing to the Lord...even more so if your name gets entangled into it through gossip or slander.While I was in high school, gossip and slander seemed to run rampant. I ignorantly believed that as soon as I received my diploma, the world would be a much different place. Unfortunately, I quickly realized the world can be a magnified version of a high school building.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀As I have journeyed through my twenties, I have been hurt many times over by women.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It isn’t an age or piece of paper that grows a person, it is the person’s desire to change their heart posture to one that aligns with the love and desire of Jesus.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Even though I encourage others to turn away from worldly ways, I cannot force them to do so. I can, however, learn to change my own heart posture.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hate and hating one another." -Titus 3:1-3 (NIV)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀We are not sinless, and our pasts are not sinless.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But through our experience of sin, we can learn to become more understanding in our dealings with those who are currently under the weight of it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Be an example of the kindness that embodies the nature of our Savior.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Through our gentleness, we illustrate our God’s love and mercy to those who desperately need it.
