How are we persevering in this life with Christlikeness? There is no shame in our answer, but rather grace and a moment for God to lovingly convict us before we forget we are vessels of Christ...before we get comfortable dismissing perseverance in ways that include:•Godless chatter and leaning into false knowledge (1 Timothy 4:20)•Falling into sinful pleasures so as to “fit in.” (Hebrews 11: 25-26).•Gaining the world with all that it values (status, riches, control) for fear of our life having no importance (Matthew 16:26). People pay attention to how we persevere because we claim Christ. This means our times of perseverance have the ability to draw someone into Christ or push them away. The way in which we persevere also impacts the space we give God in our lives. The less we depend on Him, the less we will trust and radiate Him.Are we seeking Him when we are broken, rejected, looked over, or have lost everything?God help us to persevere, in the following ways, as we breathe You in:•In love, faith, purity, & the reading of scripture (1 Timothy 4:12-13)- which can result in us showing up with peace in the midst of chaos.•With eyes set on your Kingdom (Hebrews 11: 26-27 & Matthew 6:33) – thereby revealing our hope that walking in the ways & grace of God is leading toward glory in Christ.•Joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12) – allowing us to lead others, as we seek God, with humble assurance when circumstances appear bleak.•Confident in God’s care & purpose for our lives. (Philippians 4: 6-7 & Matthew 6:26) Such truth gets us out of bed in the morning to press on in difficult times.•In extending Godly forgiveness where it is least deserved. (Matthew 5:39) This is us after we have been disrespected, violated & rejected.God, we desperately desire to persevere with Your Kingdom as our anchor – with Christ as our example – with the Holy Spirit as our comforter. Please be our guide. Amen.

Shauni MacLean

Meet Shauni MacLean, a native of Washington State and a wife of nearly nine years to the only guy (besides her dad) who saw a light in her. Shauni and her husband are parents to two little treasures, Lilly and Molly. She is 31 years old, and aside from wife-life, mama-life and writing, she is a registered nurse in the field of pediatrics.

After receiving God’s comfort and revelation through inner trials over the last seven years, Shauni has been led to be uncomfortably vulnerable with her past and current struggles, as well as the Kingdom of God triumph that follows, so that other women can be encouraged. When Shauni writes, she is thinking of the women that need to know that we are all in the same fight that will lead to victory.

You can be encouraged on your journey as a wife and relate with Shauni on her blog.
