Do you realize you do not have to carry the burden of shame?

When you give your life to Christ, He washes you clean and gives you a fresh slate- a new start.

When Jesus died on the cross. He took on all of the ugly, sinful, and shameful things we did, as well as the ugly, sinful, and shameful things that happened to us. This means we are no longer tied to the horrible things we have done, nor the horrible things we have experienced.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." -2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

Picture it like this: You were once coal: hard, dark, ugly. But once you gave your life to Christ, He took all the fragments of coal and formed you into a diamond. You are precious. You are rare. You are valuable. You are beautiful. You no longer resemble the darkness you came from. You no longer resemble the pressure you have undergone. You are brand new!

To embrace your identity in Christ, you must first shed yourself of the worldly identity you have embraced and/or created. The identity that says you are not enough. The identity that says you have no value. The identity that says you have no purpose.

Genesis 1:27 tells us, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them" (ESV).

Sisters, our identity is found in Christ and Christ alone. The One who made us is the only one who can define us. He says we are the head and not the tail. (Deuteronomy 28:13) He says we have a hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) He says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13)

See yourself as the diamond you are, not the coal you once were. Your future is bright! The beauty on the other side of all the pressure will be a testament to God's grace and mercy.
