Have you ever had a dream placed on your heart that seemed impossible? You stand there, wondering how you’re ever going to get started, wondering what to do with this crazy idea you can’t seem to get rid of. Maybe you manage to get started and find challenges and obstacles blocking your way. Maybe your own mind is busy coming up with a million excuses to quit: It’s too hard. It’s impossible. I'm crazy to even come up with such an idea, let alone try to do it.But here’s the thing: that one seemingly impossible dream? It was not dreamed up by us. That giant impossibility is actually a small seed of possibility, planted within us by our Heavenly Father.Deep in our hearts, we know this to be true. However, even though I know this, with my humanness comes doubt. I oftentimes question whether these thoughts within me are from God Himself, or whether they are from my own selfish ambition. I find myself stuck, waiting and wondering: should I really proceed? is this really the right thing? Then I wonder if it’s God or my own fear that is holding me back. The thoughts circle and circle as I stand halted, unable to move forward with this dream in my heart. Perhaps you can relate. But what if we shift our perspective? What if we really believe that every good work God places on our hearts — work that focuses on loving God and loving others, work that will ultimately further His Kingdom — God will see it to completion? He is willing. Am I? Are you? Are you willing to go forth and take that first step? Are you willing to persevere when the obstacles become more and more difficult? Will you remember that through it all, we simply need to obey the calling in our hearts, and leave the rest to God? Be willing to take that step, friend. For the One who started that good work in you won’t stop until it is completed- as long as you are willing to let Him.
