Daily Delight

Truth be told, I am not a fan of new seasons. Whether physically or spiritually, it takes me awhile to get used to something different, even if it is not the first time I've gone through it.
Last winter was no exception. It took me a long time to prepare for it and honestly, I didn’t want to. I was so comfortable in all things summer and fall. Imagine my surprise when winter arrived and I did not even have warm clothes, let alone a heater. Clearly, I did not want to let my current season go.
While I know how to recognize new seasons, my biggest problem is accepting, embracing and navigating them. I have come to realize that to reminisce and always refer to the past is draining. It is even more draining if you still live in the past.
It's important for us to remember that God has plans for us to prosper. He has something new for you. The season that you are in may be tough, or the upcoming season might look scary, but God knows what's coming, and He is already there.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." -Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)
Stay in the season He's put you in and praise Him through it. He has a reason for it and will make a way for you through it.
He who began the good work in you will put it into completion (Philippians 1:6). Trust that He is with you in every season, and know that no matter what this season brings you, God makes everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
