Daily Delight

God has been speaking to me a lot lately about the dreams that are hidden in my heart. For some reason, I’ve been trying to push them under the rug. I have the tendency to believe this lie that I’m not good enough to follow my dreams, or I shouldn’t have dreams because they make me selfish, and they aren’t there for the right reasons. We definitely do need to align our dreams with Scripture to be sure that they are from God, but we also need to look at Scripture and realize that God is usually the one who places dreams in our hearts in the first place.

We all know that famous verse in Jeremiah that says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer. 29:11, ESV). God already knows what’s going to happen in our lives. He already has a plan, and He has every intention to carry it out. “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it” (1 Thes. 5:24, ESV).

If you have dreams in your heart, don’t push them under the rug. Instead, submit them to God and ask if they’re from Him. Seek Him and pray about how those dreams can be used to bring Him glory. Trust Him and know that if He truly placed those dreams in you, He has a plan of action to carry them out and bring them to fruition. Believe that you are good enough to have dreams and do incredible things in this life, simply because He has called you and He has made you worthy.

Do not listen to the lies of the enemy, but instead proclaim the truth out loud! The truth is, “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Pet. 2:9, ESV).
