If you’re a ‘control freak’ and you know it, clap your hands!

*claps hands*
If you just clapped your hands then this message is for you.
Letting go of control has been one of my biggest stumbling blocks. Especially in my relationship with God. I can actually say I’ve stumbled more than stood on this topic for sure, but through this process, I’ve learned that God is not going to fight you for control of your life. He will sit back until you allow Him to have control, then and only then will He take over.
I used to wear myself out trying to control everything in my life perfectly. Until I got tired of being tired and I realized that I can’t do it all on my own. I learned that His way is much better than mine. Whatever plan I thought up for myself doesn’t even compare to the plans that He already has set for me.
When things don’t go the way I think they should or when a test or trial hits, sometimes I’ll slide over into the driver's seat and try to take control of the situation. Then I remind myself that God knows more than I do, and can see farther than I can see so He is always the better choice for designated driver of any situation.
God gives us what we would have asked for if we could see what he sees. Sometimes when things don’t work out the way we originally wanted them to its God protecting us from our own will and lining us up with His.
In the midst of the situation it may not make sense, but please believe that it will make faith.
I’m thankful that I’m not in control. Knowing that the God of all creation sees every test, is aware of every trial, and is in control of every situation sets me free to let go and let God be God.
I’m thankful that I’m accountable to Him who is all knowing, all seeing and all hearing.
He sees you. He sees your situation. He sees what you can't see. And He's faithful. Trust Him.
"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable." -Hebrews 4:13 (NLT)
