Daily Delight

Life, most of the time, comes at us hard and heavy. We are constantly going in and out of seasons that consist of growing pains, tending to the soil of our hearts and, all at the same time, counting the fruit and beauty of God's faithfulness. At times, the heaviness of it all leads us down a path of forgetfulness to our victory and the joy that God promised us through the seasons and the trials. For me, it becomes a constant day to day, moment by moment abiding in Whose I am to help me remember that my trials and hard seasons do not take away from the goodness of who God is, His love for us and the promise of the Given Victory that is already ours.
The definition of Victory is "an act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition." Right now, the thing that is heavy, uncomfortable, too messy, and seems far gone, we have the victory in because of Christ Jesus. Because of the cross, we are able to look at the thing or things that are too much, and root ourselves in the truth; that He is working it out for our good and for His glory. If we were to remember this, it would be a lot easier for us to walk in life and have the proper posture as a Daughter of the King. Can you imagine? Having the courage and strength to keep on, because we know wholeheartedly that we already have the Victory. I love saying that! It is one of the greatest reminders. Because of Christ, we are invited into and given a life of Victory in Him. This doesn’t mean that hard things won’t come, but it does mean that when they do, we can remember that He’s got it, and He’s good for it.
I know all too well what it feels like to have something in front of you that only God can do; that only God could have the victory in. It hasn’t been easy, and I’ve had to learn, and I’m still learning how to remember that He is the King on the throne that no one can take off or overcome. And we, His people get to walk in that same authority and Victory because of who He is. Exodus 15:2 reminds us that Gods not only our Victory but our song; the song that keeps us moving and going; our ever-present help in the time of need. It also goes on and reminds us to Praise our Father, not because of the circumstance, but because of the Victory that we have; because of the Defender that He is; because of his scandalous and deep love for us, all.
God gives us the tools we need to walk through life in confidence, knowing that we have the Victory in Him. Nothing can come in between His love for us and the Victory that we have in the cross over and over again.
I pray that we can be a generation of women who will be so rooted in His Good News, that even when our emotions don’t feel like it, and our hearts are too heavy, we can’t help but look at something that is dying, hurting, and broken, and say that In Jesus’ Name, we have the Victory.
