I have a confession: I'm not perfect.
Yup, that's right, I am not perfect. I don't always say the right thing, I don't always do what I should, I get frustrated and lash out. I mess up. And every single time I do, I feel so guilty.
Anybody else feel the same way? I relate it to when you're working out every single day for a really long time, and then you eat something you probably shouldn't have- like that extra piece of chocolate cake, or that second helping of pasta, or pizza for the third day in a row.  And then as though you already weren't feeling sick to your stomach, you begin to feel guilty too.
Well, I heard something the other day that stuck with me, and I'm praying it can encourage you today:
Choose Grace over Guilt.
It's so simple, grace over guilt, but so often we tend to do the exact opposite! Why? Why do we continue to feel guilty when we should be accepting grace. Because the truth is, sweet friends that God always, always gives us more grace. James 4:6 (ESV) says quite simply, "But He gives more grace".
And it got me thinking; God chooses to extend grace to us, instead of making us feel guilty. Every single time we come back to Him after we've made some not too good decisions, He gives us grace and doesn't spend the following days, months, or years reminding us of those guilty choices.
Grace over guilt.
Right about now I'm wishing I was sitting across from you and squeezing your hand, looking into your beautiful eyes which are no doubt clouded with doubt. I know it's easier to say than to live it out, but beautiful friend, let's choose grace over guilt. Because I know that the King of Heaven, the One who loves us enough to wipe away our sin and guilt with His blood, created us to live a life of grace and not guilt.
