"I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord" Isaiah 66:9 (NCV)
Sometimes all we can do is hold onto this promise. Sometimes the road is dark. So dark that we cannot see a single thing on our own. We need a hand to guide us. One that knows the way, and one that we can trust in pure darkness. Sometimes the pain during the journey stops us dead in our tracks and we get so tired we have to sit down. The Hand that's guiding us is patient and waits. When we are ready but still feel like we cannot stand, He picks us up and carries us until we are able to walk again.
The road isn't always easy. More often it's like a roller coaster. We are strapped in and can't get off until the ride comes safely to a stop. It twists and it turns, sometimes even goes upside down and especially goes through dark tunnels.  Sometimes we are afraid, and sometimes it's exhilarating. Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us of this.  The seasons of life. There is a time for everything.
If you are in the midst of the dark and you feel like there's no hope left, remember God's promise. Good will come from the bad. You will see the darkness at the end of the tunnel. Keep the faith. He will carry you. You're allowed to cry, you're allowed to hurt. You allowed to even be angry, but don't stay there. He will carry you until you're ready to stand again.
"...In this world you may have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world" John 16:33 (NIV)
