Daily Delight
Is there anything quite like the goodness of God?
I certainly haven’t found it if there is.
It is so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and pass over the work that God is doing in your life. It is far too easy to listen to the enemy’s lies that say you’re worthless and wasted and so believe that God isn’t doing a work. God may be moving miraculously in your life, but you can’t see it because you’re distracted by insecurity and hustle. And then one day, God decides to grab your attention. You look up and you’re reminded of just how far God has brought you. You realize that you’re a walking miracle after all that you have been through. You realize that God is at work and you can’t help shedding tears of gratitude for His infinite grace. You feel like you have to tell the world of everything that He has done. You have to let them know about the indescribable, undeserved goodness of God.
I feel that way now so can I tell you a little about the goodness of God?
He speaks, even we’re not listening. He heals, even when we don't fully realize that we're broken. He answers when we haven't even asked. He died when we never deserved to live.
He rescues those who are lost with no hope. He delivers those who believe they can save themselves. He gives good gifts when we have and never will do anything to deserve them.
He watches over us when we ask Him to and when we're being reckless.
He Loves us when we love Him and He continues to Love us when we don't.
He Father’s the fatherless. He watches over the widow. He preaches to the prisoner.
He is good and Loving and just all at the same time.
He gives words of comfort and counsel.
He calls others to pray when we’re too weak to pray for ourselves.
And He convicts of sin when He sees that we’re veering off course.
This is our amazing God. He is a Good, Good Father. That is just Who He is.
“For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations," (Psalm 100:5, ESV).
