Daily Delight
While it is true that the poor came to Jesus, it is also true that the affluent sought Him too.
Nicodemus was an excellent example. He was a rich ruler of the Jews who believed in Jesus. Zaccheus too was a rich man who sought out Jesus. Joseph of Arimathea was wealthy, and had Jesus buried in his own new tomb. Paul even told Timothy to "instruct those who are rich" (1 Tim 6:17) as there might have been those who were rich in Timothy’s audience.
Sadly, I think sometimes we forget this and neglect to minister to the wealthy, and well educated among us. We become insecure and afraid to reach out to them, even when we can sense that they are spiritually poor.
I’ve finally come to terms with being the only believer within my corporate and academic circles. It is not my personal choosing but it is where the Lord has planted me within this season.
