I recently just read a fantastic book called “The Broken Way” by Ann Voskamp. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I got out of that book. It is one I know we can all identify with. One of the many quotes I jotted down and underlined was this:

You may believe in God, but never forget - it's God who believes in you. Every morning that the sun rises and you get to rise? That's God saying He believes in you, that He believes in the story He's writing through you. He believes in you as a gift the world needs.”

How many of us wake up thinking, “Wow, God believes in me. I am a gift because of His work in me!"?

Probably not many of us. . .

It is so easy to get wrapped up in what society says about our worth, what we have to offer, and if we are important or not. And sadly, too often we believe what society says about us. Why? Why do we believe the negative and derogatory lies that spread like wildfire? That stick to us like a leech, sucking the life right out of us? Why?

Luke 12:7 says, “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

God knows every detail about us, down to the hairs we have. He knows us deeply and intimately, as King David declares in Psalm 139, and God still says we have value. We are wonderful. We are beautiful. He calls us His own and He wants to bless us in ways we cannot even fathom. What a glorious thought. And it’s not just a thought – it’s the truth! God declares it.

When you wake up, despite your circumstances and the struggles you know you may face, choose to see that your waking up is a blessing. It’s God's way of saying He’s not done with you yet. He has plans. He has purpose for you. He believes in you because He knows what you were created to be capable of.

God knows the influence your life will have. Believe His truth and live it out.
