Sisters, I want to talk about righteous anger with you. 

A couple of weeks ago, I had a situation happen with a friend that really hurt me. I am not naturally an angry person, so when I do feel angry, I don’t really know what to do with it. It’s foreign, and my immediate response is, it’s wrong to feel angry. I found myself at the ever famous verse where Paul is teaching the church in Ephesus, “Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life” (Ephesians 4:26-27, MSG). 

Being angry about a situation that is hurtful isn’t wrong, it’s normal. God has given us different emotions, and more times than not, anger is a part of the healing process of your hurt. Recognizing the issue isn’t "getting angry." It’s what you do afterward with your anger that can be dangerous. If your anger teaches you something, then it’s righteous anger. But if you allow your anger to consume your thoughts and control you, it’s unrighteous. Righteous anger always leads to grace and forgiveness. 

I want to challenge you, beautiful souls: If someone has wronged you, pray for them.

Harboring anger and bitterness against others only hinders you!

"But I say, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." -Matthew 5:44 (ESV)

At the time it may be hard, but I promise you, coming into the presence of Jesus and opening your heart up to Him sets you free and allows you to move forward in the wonder He has planned for you.
