Daily Delight
Mondays are typically the day where most people struggle to find their motivation for anything. You’ve seen the memes on your social media apps. The coffee mug quotes about Mondays being a pain aren’t always made up to be cute. Daily life is hard sometimes. We become focused on the household appliances that can’t seem to run correctly, the relationships we’re struggling with seem even more difficult to hold onto, and we feel like everything is falling apart in front of our very eyes and there is nowhere to run to for comfort. Our minds consume all the negative and can’t seem to push our minds to remember the promises of security from our good and gracious Lord.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (Romans 12:1-3, NIV)
Jesus didn’t pay the ultimate price on the cross for us to live our lives without the help and strength of our kind and tangible Father. We not only have the open invitation to have a relationship with Him, but we also have the opportunity to serve Him with all that we have. If we fix our eyes of Jesus and all that He offers us, we have a better chance to work diligently with a better attitude and allow His grace to be sufficient for our frets and worries. Encourage yourself and others to tie their “shoes of peace” a little tighter today and run the race fiercely and with joy. Show the status quo of Monday who your God is and be motivated to share His love in all that you do.
