ESV Archaeology Study Bible
Please note: I received a free Bible from Crossway in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.-Elle Cardel, Daughter of Delight Founder
The ESV Archaeological Study Bible (courtesy of Crossway) is a great Bible for anyone who is wanting to take a look at the historical background of Scripture. The contributors to this Bible are field-trained Biblical archaeologists, but the vocabulary is not geared toward archaeological buffs by any means. This book truly is for anyone. The fact that it's easy to read combined with the fact that an understanding of the historical context behind Scripture is vital to obtaining a proper understanding and application of the Word makes this a no brainer. The ESV Archaeological Study Bible absolutely deserves a spot on your bookshelf.
Personally, the ESV translation is my translation of choice, so I especially enjoy this Bible. If you're a fan of the ESV translation as well, you may find yourself taking this one to church with you each week! It may not be a journaling Bible, but it's a great resource to consider for visuals alongside your pastor's sermon. The ESV Archaeology Bible includes 700+ full-colored maps and photos, 4 timelines, 15 articles, 2,000+ study notes, book introductions, and more!
The only true downfall about this Bible is the fact that it has no attached bookmark. Good thing that's an easy fix!
