Finding God's Everlasting Love When You Feel Overlooked

A young woman is pictured walking on the beach in a white button down and long pants and the words of Romans 5:8 are included.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you felt overlooked or unheard?

A conversation where you perceived your voice didn't matter? Or, that you had no one to listen to the deep thoughts of your heart?

Often, in the hustle and bustle of life, we are faced with a season where we feel we are being overlooked as we care for the needs of those around us.

God gives us such an encouraging and wonderful reminder in Jeremiah 31:3 when He says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you" (CSB).

When we feel we are losing ourselves, let us turn to the God who deeply knows and loves us. His perpetual love is one of delight and desire toward us. He is abundant, generous, eternal, and good in the love He bestows!

God calls us to recall all the ways He has shown us His love when He says “I have loved you.” The evidence of His lavish love is confirmation that He will faithfully continue to extend that love to His children.

God’s lovingkindness meets our needs in five ways (taken from Brown-Driver-Briggs Lexicon):

+ Redemption from enemies and troubles
+ Preservation of life from death
+ Arousing of spiritual life
+ Redemption from sin
+ Keeping of His covenants

So, when we are tempted to follow the feelings of loneliness or abandonment, remember our kind and gracious Father who "proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8, CSB).

What will you cling to today, dear sister? Your feelings or your God?
