5 Bible Verses to Help You Choose Joy

Choosing to find joy in the journey God has set before us can be extremely difficult, even unwanted, at times. As Christians, we will experience difficulties in this life. The good news is, God plants purpose in everything we go through when we belong to Him. No time is wasted- not even our darkest hour.No matter the difficulties we face in this life, the Father calls us to take D E L I G H T in Him at all times.A few truths to remember:1.) Happiness and joy are NOT the same thing. Happiness is fleeting. True, eternal joy sticks around and is not based on our circumstances. (John 15:11) Therefore, joy satisfies the heart in ways happiness never can. And it can only be found in the Father’s heart.2.) The best way to receive and live with the joy of the Lord in our hearts is by remaining rooted in His infallible, life-giving Word! In doing so, we will experience a shift in perspective that leads to the true, abounding joy awaiting us. Our eyes will be opened to see the beauty & blessings in each day, no matter what. This week, I challenge you to pick one of the following verses to reflect on & memorize. Engrave the Word on your heart in such a way, that you cannot help but praise His good and glorious name! Be blessed, dear sisters!1.) Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. -James 1:2-4 (ESV)2.) You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. -Psalm 16:11 (ESV)3.) So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. -John 16:22 (ESV)4.) For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. -Romans 14:17 (ESV)5.) The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. -Psalm 28:7 (ESV)
