Have you let hurtful words from someone transform your heart?Sometimes, words get spoken over us and they shift the composition of our heart.Words of the enemy. Words of another wounded heart lashing out. Words of anger, jealousy and misunderstanding. Words that take you from a place of freedom to feeling like you are so small and not good enough. Words that make you question who you are.Reminder: We were not created by these words. We were not created to adhere, to conform or to believe these words. And yet, they can stop us in our tracks. They cause pain, comparison and leave us feeling unworthy. They can make us look to the world for confirmation and acceptance. As we approach the end of this year and step into the new one, what if we created a different kind of resolution? A holy resolution. What if we stepped into this New Year on the foundation of the word of God for our life? Affirming His word in and over our life. His words only in our life. The power we have in Jesus is in His word. His words over us. His words alone. His words are our power to stand in confidence as a believer (1 Thes. 2:13). You are a daughter of God who is given the promise of life, strength, boldness, and truth. Formed by a perfect Father, mirroring His likeness. Created in His image. His words over you are love. His words over you are worthy, redemption, healing, blessing, fullness, peace, hope, promise, and power. His words over you are victory!Speak these words. Speak them now, in this moment. He gave you the power, use it. He gave you the words, use them. Stand on the foundation of His love and let no other word but His take hold of your life and your calling. You were called to something greater. You are not the words of the world spoken over you. You are the beautiful words of victory, worthiness and promise of a loving Father spoken over you.
“Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble…” -2 Peter 10 (NIV)
