Daily Delight

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate yourself on the waiting game?

When the stop light won't change or you are standing behind the slowest checkout line ever, how do you handle it? Do you get aggravated and antsy? Perhaps it depends on the situation or what is at stake.

What about when God's answer to something you have been praying for is, “Wait”? How do you handle it then?

I’d like to tell you that I am patient and focus on resting in Him during my waiting seasons, but that would not be true.

I prayed the same prayer over and over for years. I found myself begging, pleading, making promises—even deals—with God that if He would just do this one thing, it would all be better.

Have you ever had this type of conversation with God? The one where you bear it all emotionally and ask Him why things are the way they are, while also pleading with Him to make it stop.

Here's the thing, sis: What Satan intends for evil, God uses for good. This includes our circumstances. Yes, all of them.

In our waiting, God builds our character and prepares us for the next chapter in our story. Your current chapter of life may look a lot like enduring constant heartache and fear. Quite possibly, you may even feel like you are barely hanging on. This is your refining time. This is the battle that must be fought to prepare you for the journey ahead. It cannot be won in our own strength- only His.

I clung to Psalm 27:14 and I waited, not knowing that it would be for years. However, I learned so much about myself and about God's amazing love for me (and for you). He had me wait because He knew what was best for me.

Had I not endured the things I did, I would never know Him like I do now.

Thank you God for the waiting years. Only You could turn them into good.

If you are waiting, hold tight. I promise you are never alone. He sees you. The tears you've cried, they are never wasted.

How can we pray for you today?
