But if there is bitter jealousy or competition hiding in your heart, then don’t deny it and try to compensate for it by boasting and being phony…the wisdom from above is always pure, filled with peace, considerate and teachable. It is filled with love and never displays prejudice or hypocrisy in any form.” -James 3:14-17 (TPT)

When we live from a place of insecurity in ourselves, we are constantly comparing, competing, judging and envying. This only leaves us depleted, anxious and striving harder to prove to ourselves and others that we are something we are actually not. But when we trust in our God-given identity, our security is in Him and we are able to embrace our true selves and flourish into the person He has called us to be. Even better, we are able to embrace others humbly and beautifully! A woman who is secure in her identity is able to celebrate, encourage, love and accept everyone for who they really are and where they are at.More importantly, embracing our identity releases us into true freedom. We don’t have to live life for other people, or for show. A secure identity is able to see past the comparison game, the competitiveness, the judgment and is able to discover the peace that transcends all understanding.Identity is such a huge issue for us as women. As is insecurity! But in the battle between the two deep within, which one are you going to partner with and let reign in your life? Who God says you truly are? Your gifts, calling, purpose, destiny, personhood that He perfectly created to be just you? Or who you are striving so desperately to portray and prove to be? Let it go and embrace what is already yours. Because who you are created to be is a much better version than who you are trying to be.Begin the journey of embracing your true identity today and you will be walking in freedom, peace and joy. And as you learn to love, accept and embrace yourself, you will find you are able to embrace others around you!
