Daily Delight

Don’t you just love it when God hears and then answers your cry for help? I experienced this just a few days ago when God breathed life into my weary soul. For weeks, I have been feeling God nudge me and my family to move out of our comfort zone. Rather than jumping in with two feet, I’ve been sitting on His nudge with a heavy and fearful heart. Day after day, I have been praying and asking God for the right answers. “What new school do you want my kids to attend? What job will you lead my husband to and will it better serve our family?” I waited, with agony, for God to give me the answers I needed to move forward. A few days ago, I got my answer. However, the answer He revealed was nothing like I asked for, nor expected. Instead, it was exactly what I needed. In the only way God knows best, He reminded me that even though I may be ‘pressed’ with troubles and ‘perplexed’ by His calling, I am no where near ‘crushed’ or in ‘despair.’ You would have thought the heavens opened up.For the first time in weeks, I could not only see clearly but I could feel God’s loving grace fill me. Those fears I had been sitting with, kept my focus inward. This is not where God wants me. Rather than fearing change, all I needed to do was turn my gaze out and upward and look for the ways that God is already moving and working in my life. My job is of surrender; of giving my worries and fears over to God and letting Him guide me.Friend, you and I both know that life will always have its troubles. Many times in our lives, we will crave answers to questions that only God has the answer for. When those times arise, resist the human tendency to turn inward. Rather, keep your focus on God and watch Him work in ways that you can’t even imagine.
