Daily Delight
"I just don't think I'm good enough to do that. God could never use someone like me."
These are the words I think probably every other day. Have you ever thought something similar? Do you have a goal or a dream that you think is too big for you to accomplish? Well sisters, so do I. This is just as much of a reminder for you, as it is for me, so let me share with you of a couple things that always bring my perspective back.
The Bible is an account of God continuously using ordinary, sinful people. Satan loves for us to think we have to be perfect before God will use us, and we forget that this was not the case for anyone in the Bible.
Remember Moses? He killed a man, ran away, and then wanted God to pick someone else to use for His plans. How about David? He lusted after Bathsheba, committed adultery with her and had her husband killed. Yet Jesus Christ Himself came from the line of David and fulfilled the Davidic Covenant. These are just two of the many examples in the Bible of God using ordinary sinners like us. Isn't God so amazing?
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." -Psalm 37:4 (ESV)
If you are seeking the Lord and delighting in Him above all else, the desires of your heart are from Him. If He alone is your biggest joy, your desires will match up with His plans because your desire is to glorify Him above all else. And girls, He will use you.
Our purpose here is to glorify Him, and if you have a dream that aligns with that purpose, don't let fear stop you from chasing it. Prayerfully pursue the dream, keep your focus on Who you are doing it for and watch what God will do. His glory shines the brightest through the vessels of the weakest and most humble. If you believe you have a gift from God that can be used to advance His Kingdom, don't rob God of the joy of using that!
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace."
-1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
