Daily Delight
I’ve found it’s healing to look back and reflect upon the good things the Lord brings from our seasons of suffering. To recall how He met us, strengthened us, and changed us. To offer these back to Him with “the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His Name,” (Hebrews 13:15 KJV). It was during one such season, that The Lord impressed upon my heart to ask Him each morning what He would desire to be for me that day. He already knew my need. Was my necessity for Him as my Good Shepherd, providing direction in the practical aspects of life? “Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need. He lets me rest..leads me..restores my soul, and helps me do what honors Him the most,” (Psalm 23 LIV). Was the need of this day for an inner touch of His healing grace? If so, my Great Physician would provide healing in the inward places of my heart. “The Lord..Who heals each one of all your diseases. Who redeems your life from the pit..Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercy. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, curing their pains and their sorrows,” (Psalm 103:3-4; 147:3 AMP). The Healer of our bodies, and restorer of our spirit and soul. Or would the day require my Abba-Daddy’s arms holding me close in His love, reassuring me of His constant presence, protection, provision and intentional care. “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My..daughters..My Father..is greater and mightier than all else and no one is able to snatch them (us) out of His hand,” (2 Cor. 6:18; John 10:29 AMP). Whatever the needs are for this day, we can know that Omniscient God already knows, and is simply waiting to be invited to participate. Shepherd, Physician or Father, what is your need for the day, dear sister? Simply ask Him. “When they walk through the Valley of Weeping it will become a place of springs where pools of blessing and refreshment collect after rains! They will grow constantly in strength,” (Psalm 84:6-7a LIV).
