Daily Delight
As I write this, I am 33,000 feet in the air, looking out of the window of a plane as I travel to a grief retreat. For weeks, I have been praying earnestly for the Lord to give me strength. Throughout my term as a writing for Daughter of Delight, a beautiful labor of love, God has stretched me to share pieces of my heart that I, honestly, don’t enjoy sharing. My life as an “open book” does not come naturally. I am notorious for attempting to change subjects or turn questions around when I feel that the conversation calls for some hard answers. I shouldn’t be surprised that God is molding me in this way because when I surrendered my life to Christ, I asked God to give me stories and experiences that only He could create so that I may be able to share them with others.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV)
God has given us a new life through salvation to share with the world. One of the most genuine ways we can show others that our Father is full of grace and truth is through the testimony of His sacrifice and how His gift to the world has changed our lives forever. Through the mercy poured out on us through Christ’s death and the grace freely given to us through His resurrection and His to promise to return, we have this hope that the story He has created for each one of His children will help spread the Gospel among the nations. What better way to come together as the body of Christ than to share our story of how our loving Father has molded each of us different for His divine purpose.
Don’t be afraid of your story. Don’t hinder what the Spirit of God can do through you. Be motivated by the love of Jesus to share with the world what He has done through you and for you!
