Daily Delight

If there was an award for least likely to be a morning person, I would definitely win. To actually wake up, it sometimes takes multiple snooze cycles. Can anyone relate? In an attempt to overcome this struggle, I became a coffee drinker. While the caffeine temporarily helped, what I really needed could only be found through the Father.

Psalm 119:130 tells us, “The unfolding of your words give light; it gives understanding to the simple” (NIV). God put the desire in my heart to begin studying Scripture every morning. Immediately, the Lord started blessing me through His words. I was given knowledge, courage, and peace to prepare me for my day. No longer did I dread mornings, I longed to be in His presence—He provided for me in ways only He can.

Sweet sisters, whatever circumstances you find yourself needing direction in, turn to Scripture, and you will be given answers. “Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him” (Proverbs 30:5, NIV). It is truly amazing how He provides the exact encouragement our heart needs! Christ is our ultimate prize and most effective wake-up call. In our weakness, He makes us strong; no amount of coffee can ever give us that.
