“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven..." (Ecclesiastes 3:1, ESV)
For everything there is a season. For every season, there is a purpose. And though the seasons are always changing, the purpose never does. Through the seasons of loss and gain, mourning and dancing, weeping and laughter, the purpose is always the same: Jesus. Bring Him glory, get closer to Him, and lead others to Him.
Through pain, loss, and tears, we can find hope in trusting that Jesus is with us, Jesus is in control, and He is going to work this for good. The light to be found in the darkness of grief and pain is the face of Jesus, drawing us in to be comforted and loved by Him. To hear Him whisper, “I won’t let you go.” It may seem that no good can ever possibly come from the season that you’re in, but when the fog begins to lift and you choose to trust the Love and plan of God, you will begin to see that He works everything for good (Rom. 8:28) if you will just let Him.
He uses every dark season to deepen our trust and relationship with Him.
He uses our testimony of His faithfulness and healing to help heal others and lead them into His family.
And He uses our trust and faith to bring glory to His name.
Whether you’re deep in a season of mourning or you have been dancing and laughing for weeks, know that there is purpose for it all. It may seem impossible now, but Jesus always has a plan. It’s okay to fall at His feet. It is just as okay to weep and scream at the feet of Jesus as it is to glorify and praise Him. He can handle your pain. He can handle your questions. He can handle you heart.
You don’t have be afraid to be honest with Jesus, He already knows your every question and fear. So, whether you’re in life’s Summer, experiencing warmth and rest, or you’ve just entered Winter and you’re watching everything die, just know that Jesus has a purpose. The purpose never changes, but the seasons always do. Hold on, friend, Jesus promises that Spring is coming.
