Are you a control freak like me? Do you want to have grip on some part of every situation you face? I do. I want to make sure that things come out the way I picture that they should. But today I got a slap in the face that was much needed. Silly girl, you have no control over what is going to happen!
I mean really, you can control what you eat for lunch, what you're going to wear. The small things. But when it comes to the big things? God already has them completely mapped out. He knew before we were formed what was going to happen along the way in our lives. He knows the friends we would make. The spouse we would marry. The kids we would have. And the heartache of it all in between. He knows when loved ones would pass on and leave us with grief. He knows.
When things don't happen the way we picture, we crumble. We ask why. It's just human. But later on when other things fall into place, we most often can always find the picture of why these things happened when they did. God has a plan and His timing is perfect. Always. If everything went according to what we had planned, would there be any need for faith or trust in God. That's what He wants when these situations are thrown our way. Stop and have faith. Know that His plan is greater.
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." -Psalm 56:3 (NIV)
He won't let you fall.
