Daily Delight
My heart is moved and overflows with a theme of beautiful thoughts. I write my devotion to The King, for He has once again stirred my heart to overflowing (Psalm 45:1).
Beloved King, Your love is more delightful than wine. Your Name is perfume poured out. No wonder the young maidens adore You. Take me with You, for when I am close to You in the secret place of our chamber, You share Your love with me so sweetly from the pages of the Bible (Song 1:2-4).
Oh, how I thank You for this daily time of intimacy. You have loved me so well, my Lord Jesus, and your unfailing love and kindness has drawn me to Your arms. When I draw near to You, You draw so very close to me, that I can almost feel Your breath on my face. And when I seek and search for You with all my heart, You reveal more and more of Yourself (Jeremiah 31:3; 29:13).
How rich I am because of Your Endless love. Please tell me once again of Your love, for I never tire of hearing such words.
My King answers me and says:
Arise, My darling and come away My beautiful one. My dove in the cleft of the rock, let Me see your face for it is lovely to Me, let Me hear your voice for it is sweet in My ears (Song 1:10, 14-15 HCSB).
See, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands and though others may forget you, I never will (Isaiah 49:16). I will never forsake you, never let you down, never walk off and leave you, for you are Mine (Hebrews 13:5 NIV, MSG ).
My heart thrills and responds to my Beloved’s voice:
You are my Lord, my portion and my cup. You make my lot secure. In You I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise You Who counsels me. Apart from You I have no good thing. You make known to me the path of life; You fill me with joy in Your presence and with eternal pleasures at Your right hand (Psalm 16 NIV). Thank You, my King, for always being so present and for revealing truth; the truth of who I am to You..deeply, endlessly loved and cherished.
