God is With Us, Always

Beautiful woman with eyes closed and sun shining on her face

Whatever you’re facing on this winter day, I encourage you to lift your eyes to the Maker of all things. (Psalm 121:1-2)

Because of the sinful condition of our world, suffering and hardship is a guarantee in life. God never promised that we won’t go through difficult things, but He did promise to be with us always. What a truth worth rejoicing in!

Isaiah 43:2 tells us, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” (ESV).

Don’t miss it: Isaiah 43:2 notes when we pass through waters and walk through fire. It is not a matter of if but when.

I think of Moses and Daniel and how they faced these elements — God was with them both.

If you are in Christ, sealed with the Spirit, covered in His blood: He has promised to be with you.

You might be facing devastation, a shocking hurt, grief, or doubt — He has promised to be with you.

Maybe you’re chronically ill, anxious, or depressed — He has promised to be with you.

When your life looks nothing like what you’ve always wanted, He has promised to be with you.

Just like with Moses, Daniel, and all the saints who have gone before us, God is with us. He will never leave us or forsake us. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Not only has He promised His presence, He brings something with Him: joy. Yes, true joy in the midst of heartache. (Psalm 16:11) This is possible in Christ.

Will you believe Him with me today?

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” -Proverbs 30:5 (ESV)

“But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true.” -Psalm 119:151 (ESV)
